Re: Camera and Photography Thread - 1

@Bangarappa In general digital cameras when they malfunction like this it is a difficult problem to fix and certainly in the US nobody would do that because it would cost you a lot less to simply buy a new camera. This camera is over 15 yrs old technology and honestly you could do better with your i...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017

I am as rah rah right wing (whatever that means) HIndu as they come. But even I can see the problems facing an elected government that needs to cater to a diverse population and bring the country to order. You cannot be openly hostile to any particular group just because they have a different perspe...

Re: Travel notes thread

Javee Ji, I've long wanted to visit the various places in India for tiger viewing. However, talking to my wildlife buddies here who've done several tours dedicated to this it appears that it is a hit or miss. Leopard sightings are even rarer perhaps. Which is why I believe you had a sighting of a li...

Re: Travel notes thread

Thank you Singha Ji. What a wonderful tale. Javee Ji, I am so envious of your leopard sighting, as we discussed on BRF. We did a family reunion bus tour of Rajasthan almost two years ago, including Agra. There were 34 of us, mostly from the US, age range 1 to 81. It was a nightmare to arrange and eq...

Re: Camera and Photography Thread - 1

Lovely, VJ. Wide angle works really well here. Did you process this in any way? I like the perspective, but the top is blown out, although that adds a certain character to it. Nice.

Re: Tax laws in India / world , and proposed tax laws for India

I agree with Bajwa Ji. Cannot compare taxes in two countries with completely different population demographics, economy and social structure. It may not be a bad idea to place a brief summary of existing tax laws in India (many of us are ignorant of those) and perhaps people can suggest ways to make...

I agree absolutely and wholeheartedly with you. Now let us all pack up and go home. For India will never ever get better, so what is the point?

Camera and Photography Thread

In the spirit of 'shoot the breeze', I am starting the photography thread on BGR. My first image on this new thread is one that I took a few years ago but I love very much. My favorite view of the NYC Skyline, from the Brooklyn Bridge Park. The Freedom Tower was not yet completed and it is thus fitt...

Re: BR GDF Shutdown Discussion

Yes. If somebody wants to go after you, they can. It can get ugly in India if you do not have some entity to back you up in a fight (legal or otherwise) I am under no illusion that I am anonymous here or in brf. a little bit of digging is all it will take to figure my profile. No one is anonymous t...

Re: Moderator Nominations

I humbly submit my offer of help in any capacity other than moderation, there are too many folks here with much better credentials. The forum I moderated was a closed one of my college where I knew every member, it was a nightmare trying to avoid offending friends and colleagues and yet keeping them...

Re: Welcome to Bharat Ganrajya

It is not wise to put all eggs in one basket, i.e BRF. If people want to post there exclusively for defence issues, no one is stopping them. Similarly, this forum should provide space for defence issues too. Can any one now guarantee that BRF will continue to function as one of better defence forum...

Joining in, same ID. I know it is odd, but that's been my handle on the net since '97 or so. Some suggestions/qutestions if I may. 1. I am very happy to contribute to the upkeep and whatever other costs that are incurred. 2. Please, NO likes/dislikes/thanks for posts. This creates cliques and mutual...
