This I call being penny wise, pound foolish. Those are small amounts which barely make a dent in the budget. In many cases those schemes are good for Hindus are they are aimed at curbing muslim population by educating muslim women. BJP will need to show something to counter the opposition allegation that they are anti minority. It is also important to convince the tiny fraction, however tiny it is, among the minority that are not ideologically opposed to the BJP.JohnTitor wrote:I think what Modi's critics (well-wishers but purely policy critics) are saying is that there is no need for some of his schemes, like the money for marriage schemes that is only open to Muslims etc..
Congress did this because it had 70 years to do it. It had the full backing of the entire political spectrum behind it whereas BJP's own allies are balking at anything that can be perceived as pro Hindu. Instead of blaming the BJP, wouldn't you be better off building a consensus among the Hindus for Hindutva causes. If you wan't the BJP govt to take up the Hindu causes, why don't you spend efforts to enable it to do so. Not just the entire 'secular' parties in India are behind congress on muslim appeasement, they also have the backing of external forces in undermining Hindus.JohnTitor wrote:Neither does anyone believe that BJP should do things willy-nilly. Even UPA did all that it did, including looting, conversion etc all within the system. If the system didn't allow it, they changed the system. But everything was "by the books" .. which is why it's hard to find the guilty. They have all the branches of government in their pockets. BJP needs to change the system to get things done.
There are many people who use the delay on Hindutva agenda to whip up anti Modi sentiments. And there are people who advocatevoting NOTA. Yogi's statement asking for patience makes it clear that there is no merit in core right's argument. People were very patient with core right and tried to reason with them and they still do. But they continue to play spoilsport.JohnTitor wrote:It has become a fad to summarily term anyone who criticizes BJP as ani-india or pro-INC or trolls. Yes these people are there but the topic at hand should stand on its own merit. Failure to do so will lead to another"India shining" campaign. I recall during that time, everyone here (BRF) was so blind to issues being brought forward.. and the prevailing sentiment on the forum was the BJP would not only return to power, but do so with a larger mandate.
