The others also include Mark Waugh and Michael Clark. I can’t think of too many parallels for India in recent past. Some keep pointing out to the 2011 World Cup or even the NatWest final.
However, the win here seemed so improbable especially with a junior India A team it seemed.

Rahul Dravid has been also receiving the accolades for guiding a lot of the youngsters through with regard to management. Even the Pakistanis can stop oohing that it was really a management success with Dravid guiding a lot of the youngsters to professional level.

It is now become a selection headache I feel for the next couple of tests. Guys like Kuldeep Yadav was pretty much benched almost the whole series will likely never get a chance. Also tough I feel for incoming KL Rahul and pretty much the death of Saha with Pant batting like he does…..

Pant yet again has become another sensation until he drops the next catch, and then they are a whole bunch of twitter memes. The life of living the superstar, I guess?

However not just him but so many debutants have really made their mark. The bench strength of India has taken on one of the strongest Australian teams and made them look ordinary.

The record at the Gabba, of 33 years has been broken. What to say? We can go on and on.

edited to shift Shoaib Akhtar comment to the Pakistani thread.

Has not really been a good time Cricket wise. Lost the men’s T20 World Cup, then the under 19 T20 World Cup and then now the woman’s T20 World Cup as well.

We seemed to have started quite well after thrashing New Zealand in the T20’s, but then lost the one-day series as well as the test series quite horribly.

Overall, much rethinking needed in the team India camp.

South Africa were unfortunately outclassed especially in the spin department. It was good to see that they actually have some Indian spinners as well but unfortunately, they couldn’t make much of a dent. South Africa would have a hard time blaming anything on the pitch with Shami doing so well in the second innings. Always great to see the highlights. Not sure that anybody can really sit down and watch five days of a test match anymore.

Various Sri Lankan players had opted out of the proposed Sri Lanka tour of Pakistan which is scheduled for this month

Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi took a dig at Prime Minister Imran Khan through twitter, after it was announced that various Sri Lankan players had opted out of the proposed Sri Lanka tour of Pakistan which is scheduled for this month. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) officials however have clarified that a team will still be sent for the tour.

Sethi took to twitter, to mock the current Prime Minister for his comments on international players who took part in the Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2017.

“Imran Khan should guide the PCB on how to make sure Sri Lanka doesn’t send a “Relukata” team to Pakistan!” Sethi tweeted.

The former Chairman, who is widely credited with bringing international cricket back to Pakistan, received criticism for bringing in second tier players for the HBL PSL final in 2017 which was held in Lahore.

Khan, in a video, called the international players ‘phateechar’, ‘rallukatta’ and ‘from Africa’. The former World Cup winning captain believed that these second tier players could have been called to play in the country regardless of the security conditions.

These terms were classified as derogatory and racist during the time. Khan received a significant amount of backlash for the comments and had to justify his stance accordingly.

Sethi’s comments come at a time when the PCB is still striving to get international cricketers to play in the country.

One thing however is you got a feel for Ravichandran Ashwin. Another eight wickets to make and break the fastest to 350 test wickets. At one stage he even threatened to break Anil Kumble’s record. Now he struggles to even get a look in with this kind of bowling lineup. It must be really demoralizing to hold the stats that you have but yet can’t even break into the test 11. He’s already been chucked out of the one-day team and now really just warming the bench.

India really needs a rotation policy when it comes to boulders such as him. Slow track or fast track, he needs to be taken in whatever the circumstance with the pitch may be. I can understand that Jadeja is an awesome fielder as well as handy bat down the lower order as well. However let’s not forget that Ashwin also holds test centuries in the West Indies as well.
It’s time to unleash the Carrom Ball!!

This would be both to left-handers coming back in to take off the off stump or away swingers to right-handed batsman crashing into the top of the off stump as well. Just absolutely stupendous bowling. Haven’t seen anything like it. It’s just amazing how much Bumra generates from that short run up. Old war horse Ishant Sharma seems to be getting better and better and well backed up by Mohammed Shami as well.
Definitely an attack most cricketing nations would be envious of. It was a complete and dominating victory in the end.

Also caught a little bit of the highlights of the ashes series. This Ben Stokes guy seems to be really making memorable moments for himself. More than one by England, it was really given away by Australia. That stumping chance by lyon, was simply ludicrous. I guess he would’ve taken that nine times out of 10 on his best day but it was simply not meant to be.
