Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - 3 (Oct 2018 - )
Large scale booth capturing and intimidation by TMC goons in the 2 seats in West Bengal that went to the polls today. Despite knowing what happened in the Panchayat elections, the EC has STILL only deployed Central Forces to 40% of the booths. They're too busy banning TV channels and movies till aft...

This is for all General Class people, not Upper caste. That means it applies to non - Hindus as well. Also provides for 10 percent reservation in non - Minority educational institutions.

Re: Election Discussions - National, State etc
My by poll analysis. Assembly bypolls are too local to draw any inference. Mostly the incumbents have won except one seat in BH which is in the Muslim dominated belt. JDU lost as it is now in alliance with BJP. LS numbers are BJP+ 2, other 2. BJP needs to mend fences with SS in MH for the time bein...

Yashwant Deshmukh analysed the trends in these by-elections, and extrapolated to the whole of the state. Congress 139 and BJP 53 in a house of 200 would be the result.

No worries, if you're able to get it, I'll take it off you.
Also, if someone else is returning anytime soon, do let me know, would be grateful.
Cheers.

Ordered an Echo speaker for the house.
Convinced SHQ that our 5 year old can learn a lot from it by asking it questions for her general knowledge; little does she know that this was only step 1 in the masterplan to "smartify" the house.
Next up - Philips Hue smart lights.

We visited SL this Diwali - Colombo, Yala and Unawatuna, near Galle.
Quite inexpensive by Indian standards. A tip - if travelling from India, don't convert your rupees to SL Rupees; instead, go for USD and convert them there. You'll get a far better exchange rate.
