Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017

I hope power hungry backstabbers at BJP desiring to win the NE elections aren't sucking upto to EJs now. Look at handles of Anshul Saxena and Girish Bharadwaja, they have been pleading to MEA regarding misuse of visas by visiting EJs. Quite a few visit successfully. One of the poll promises of BJP ...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017

Irrespective of the spin of blaming RBI or anybody else, the buck ultimately stops with the govt. I get my info. from public domain (PD), same as most others do, and so far I have not seen the news that whistleblowers approached RBI or the govt./PMO forwarded the case to RBI, so maybe I missed that ...

So now RBI is being scapegoated?? No doubt that there is plenty of blame to go around but the buck ultimately stops with the present govt., specially since it refused to act despite being approached by the whistleblowers at different levels of the govt. from IT/ED/CBI to the highest level the PMO it...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017

If the existing institutions were strong then there wouldn't be a need for Lokpal to begin with. Lokpal is sorely needed because of the weakness of existing institutions. Beside if the exercise of setting up a Lokpal institution is meaningless then why include it in the manifesto?? Now I am no fan o...

Recall that BJP's promise of a effective Lokpal institution was part of their manifesto and their PM candidate then had promised speedy appointment of Lokpal. Now 4 years on there is still no Lokpal in sight so i...

Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017

If talking will backfire on Modi, IMO silence hurts him even more, so talking is better alternative. Regardless, it is his responsibility to talk on such issues of national importance, it is the nature of the job he was elected for. So when he is keeps quiet he is failing to do his job. His silence ...

who is Dhruv: another Modi baiter?
he is basically regurgitating the points and arguments of a popular AAPi youtuber/twitterer of that name.

I am skeptical about the claim of Rs 5,500 crore worth of diamonds being seized. How were they able to ascertain the value while they were seizing it? Tribolite, There is nothing in that IE article you posted that suggests corruption on part of CBI wrt Mallya. It clearly says Mallya was co-operating and hence allowed to go abroad. We also need proper exit control laws to prevent accused people from leaving the country. I am not sure if India has one. India has "Lookout Notices", it is similar to exit control. Anybody on the lookout notice is not allowed to leave the country and stopped at the immigration. In case of Mallya C...

The only way out of this is by instilling fear and push baboons into submission. Suspending them or removing them from jobs won't do anything. Something more harsh is needed. That is a bad idea. Re: The Great Indian Political Drama - Oct 2017

Tirbolite, As the income of the country increases the poverty line also increases. So what you are saying is wrong. Sutrapik, you do have a point, but when the income rises prices also rise, especially in India where average inflation rate is very high almost same rate as the real growth rate.
