This thread would be appropriate to narrate a incident that occurred last month at my native place Meerut.
There was some issue with garbage not being picked up by corresponding people in our locality.
My father being a retired Central govt employee has a habit of raising complaints / request in most appropriate ways and he did so this time too.

After 2 days the area in charge visited our house, got things cleaned up in the locality and requested my father not to take things further :) :)
On top of that, few days later my father received call from Lucknow wanting to know if he was satisfied with the response to his complaint !!
We UP wallahs are not used to all this :rotfl: :rotfl:

^ Jai ho, yogi ji ki!

BTW, yogi ji has been in good demand as a campaigner in the KA polls. He did the tier-2 circuit, accepted all responsibility the party gave him and (hopefully) made it count.

Yogi should be groomed as future PM. I hope that is the plan. I think he is more of a vote catcher than Amit Shah.

We do a great disservice to our civilization when we see so called 'core agenda' as different from 'vikas agenda'. What is vikas without dharma? It is simply aping the western model and bound to go the same way - broken society, dysfunctional families & useless materialistic pursuit. True vikas is when we reclaim our Hindu civilization in all its glory - economically, culturally & militarily.

+1. You're preaching to the choir, BTW.

Moi was merely trying to sugarcoat stuff a tad, so that uber vikaasiyas can condescendingly [sw]allow a teeny weeny 'concession' to the yindootva-vadis. Onlee.
I have a different take on this Vikaas or Dharma debate. The way Modi Sarkar is approaching Vikaas is not a blind imitation of Abrahamic-Materialist West but a "Road of Vikaas towards Dharma".

I present my rationale here. Please critic.

Is Modi building a DhArmic BhArat?

The other day I was reading “AntarArtha DEvi BhAgavatam” and came across the definition of Dharma. It says, Dharma is the nourishing milk giving Cow with its four feet as – Satya, Saucha, BhUta-Daya and NishkAma-dAna/Karma.

This made me wonder if the current Prime Minister of India, Sri Narendra Modi is subtly building a DhArmic-RAshtra thru many English sounding schemes. Let us explore:

The first foot of Dharma is Satya.

What is Satya for a society like BhArat? It is nothing but the true essence, nature, spiritual character of BhArat and BhArat alone. This is exactly how Sri Modi described BhArat in his "Idea of India" speech on the floor of Indian Parliament. In summary, Modi’s definition of Satya (or Idea of Bharat) is - SatyamEva JayatE (Only Truth Prevails), PaudhA me bhI paramAtma hota (Plant life too is the god-consciousness), AppO deepO bhava (Just be a light unto yourself), Tena Tyaktena Bhunjitha (Renounce and Enjoy), Om Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, Sarve Santu Nir-Aamayaah | Sarve Bhadraanni Pashyantu, Maa Kashcid-Duhkha-Bhaag-Bhavet | (May All become Happy, May All be Free from Illness. May All See what is Auspicious, May no one Suffer.), Naari, tu Naarayani (Woman, you are none other than Narayani/Goddess), Janani Janma-bhoomi-scha Swargadapi Gariyasi (one's mother and motherland are dearer to him/her than heaven) and so on…

We have heard many of these Satya-vaakyas throughout our life as we celebrated our Bharatiyata. None of the Abrahamic ideologies like Islam and Christianity, nor the modern ideologies like Communism, Socialism and Secularism talk about Satya/eternal-Truth in these constructs. In fact, all the non-Bharatiya ideologies stand against more than one of the above “Ideas of Bharat”. Thus Modi’s definition of Satya is nothing but Veda-Dharmic Satya!

Second foot of Dharma is Saucha.

Bhagavatgita explains that Saucha as combination of Subhrata, Swachata, Sundarata and Pavitrata. Subhrata means getting rid of filth and corruption amidst us. Swachata is the process of adopting the set of practices that help maintain health and prevent corruption. Sundarata is the body of aesthetic knowledge that makes our surroundings and society a celebration. Finally Pavitrata brings the sense of reverence towards our own surroundings, society and nation.

If we closely observe various schemes initiated by Modi Sarkar, we can see the ground work to bring Saucha to Bharatiya society and consciousness that will eventually lead to the Satya (Idea of Bharat) described above. Programs like Toilet construction, Swacha Bharat, Smart Cities, Model villages, Namami Gange and religious-tourism circuits are all part of this Saucha-Bharat initiative.

When completed, these programs together will increase the Saucha-Quotient of India to Vedic-Bharat levels.

Third foot of Dharma is BhUta-Daya.

BhUta-Daya consists of two parts. The first aspect of BhUta-Daya is reverence and kindness towards and protection of flora-fauna of Bharat. This is stemmed from the root consciousness of Vedic-Bharat that says “PaudhA me bhI paramAtma hota”. The Bharatiya concept of BhUta-Daya cannot be found in any of Abrahamic ideologies that are ruling rest of humanity. All these Abrahamic ideologies view the nature as something meant for human consumption (God created earth for human consumption).

This is the angle from which we must see the Beef Ban and anti-Cow-Slaughter movements. When Hindus agitate against Cow-slaughter, they aren’t denouncing only cow-slaughter but supporting goat/chicken slaughter. Cow is the symbol of all animal-world in Hindu lore. It is same as Indian parliament being the symbol of our democracy and any attack on the parliament is seen as an attack on Indian democracy and dealt accordingly. So when a Hindu is agitating against cow-slaughter, one is agitating unnecessary consumption of animal meat/products. As someone said, a Bharatiya killing an animal out of hunger is a reflection of poverty of the nation, a Bharatiya killing animal for taste is one living in lowest level of human consciousness a.k.a ignorant (For one can get same/better taste in vegetarian food) and finally a Bharatiya killing an animal for pleasure is nothing but an Asura to be punished/killed.

Modi Sarkar’s stand on these issues are to enforce better living conditions in animal farms and to ban export of animal products. We have to understand that the indigenous breeds of cattle and flora-fauna are natural evolution over millennia to survive and sustain in indigenous climatic conditions. Foreign imports can give only temporary reprieve and can never be a permanent solution.

The second part of BhUta-Daya is to develop our forestry, natural eco system so it facilitates and nurtures next level of human evolution. The impact/results of this can be seen only in long scales of time often going beyond hundreds of years. Modi Sarkar’s focus on environment, renewable energy and economy and river-cleaning projects like Namami Gange project has the potential to create such a mutually supporting and sustaining eco-system.

Fourth foot of Dharma is NishkAma-Karma/dAna.

At Rashtra level, NishkAma-Karma translates into a corruption free and efficient governance system. The administration is represented by people working in and representing various arms of Rashtra. They are expected to work towards the glory of Bharat without narrow-minded translations and comparisons of their services and sacrifices into monetary gains. For example, recently there was a social media outrage about an IAS officer’s salary being higher than that of a soldier posted in Siachen. This is not only a ridiculous argument but also an insult to both the soldier’s karma/action as well as that IAS officer’s. Karma of any Bharatiya, be one is a teacher, soldier, doctor, riksha-puller or a farmer, is no higher or lower than anyone else's.

Modi’s focus on minimum government maximum governance and SabkA sAth, sabkA vikAs are the foundations of this NishkAma karma awareness. It enforces the sense of belonging and awareness among BhAratiyAs that their individual success/action/well-being comes from collective success/action/well-being.

NishkAma-dAna in this context represents the state support to poor and down-trodden. Not every action/profession can result in monetary results. There could be many reasons. But we cannot condemn a small farmer or daily-laborer or unemployed post-graduate for their poverty. The nation as a whole has to offer them a basic level of social security that ensures that no Bharatiya goes hungry, unhealthy or lack an opportunity to succeed.

This is where Modi Sarkar’s schemes such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Universal Social Security, Universal Health and Life Insurance scheme and MUDRA bank etc come into picture. All these schemes, as they gain traction, will form foundation of Nishkama-dAna aspect of Dharmic Bharat.

Conclusion

Seen from this perspective, we can safely conclude that Sri Narendra Modi is establishing foundations for a Dharmic Bharat whose viswarUpa may appear in a decade where Bharat grows to become a $20T economy and Bharatiyas get to enjoy first-world Human Development Indices with minimum environmental foot print and without compromising on their natural Dharma that is Sanatana Dharma!

At this juncture it is important for all Bharatiyas to not get distracted by secular propaganda and become part of Sri Narendra Modi’s Yajna in regaining our Viswa Guru position sooner than later.

This is the single most service every Bharatiya can do to oneself, to our motherland and entire humanity!

^Nice, RamaY saar.

Agree in principle and all that. In practice, however, we bhAratIyas don't have the luxury of time.

The demographics are changing slowly but steadily in seat after seat. Rampant churchist conversions have tilted the demographic balance in scores of southern seats in TN and Kosta. The stranglehold of the abrahamics on the edu system is proving an impossible hurdle to cross for us dhArmics only. With each passing year, more kids are being drawn away from core dharma and made rootless in the churchist edu ecosystem.

Legislating equality or a level playing field in the mgmt of our edu institutions and our shrines - which is consistent with sabka saath, sabka vikaas, BTW - isn't something that can wait a decade for us to be a $10 trn economy etc. It may already be too late by then. The urgency is palpable but many PIFs too seem oblivious to it, inexplicably.

P.S. Additionally, the beeDee malsi, illegal Rohingya influx and WB's active sabotage of our natSec has left a hole bigger than the ozone's all over our Eastern sector. That owever is another tale for another time. praNAms.

Meerut: Objection to Muslims offering namaz at a tomb triggers clash (IE)
On Tuesday, Meerut Mayor Sunita Verma, of the BSP, had sought to cancel cultural programmes at the Nauchandi fair here contending that the loud music could distract Muslim worshippers when they offered prayers, but this was shot down after BJP councillors objected.
Good. And BJP councillors and all PIFs can rest assured the Yogihas their back should they take on psec+malsic aggression with equal and opposite reaction only. Already West UP's demographics are in a fix.
Security was tightened at Meerut’s Shastri Nagar area after a clash involving two communities on Wednesday night. The incident happened after BJP-led Hindu groups objected to Muslims offering namaz at a tomb. {Remember, this is coupta's IE after all, so expect sekularist overdoses like this subtle dig at BJP here. Good, it only hlps the BJP in this case.}

According to the BJP, the function, held close to the gole mandir in Sector-3, was a first and they did not want a “new tradition” to begin. A Muslim group, however, denied this and said they had often offered namaz there.

Soon after the moon was sighted on Wednesday, marking the beginning of the holy month of Ramzan, many people gathered at the tomb to offer prayers. However, certain Hindu outfits’ members arrived and objected to this. The arguments soon spiralled out of control leading to a clash. People from both sides pelted stones at each other.

The police were informed of the incident and managed to control the ruckus. Two persons were injured in the clash. “No arrests were made in this connection and leaders of both communities have given in writing that they will not begin a new tradition at the tomb which means that the status quo will remain. We have deployed police force in strength as a precautionary measure,” SSP (Meerut) Rajesh Kumar Pandey told The Indian Express.
Malsic take-over of public spaces, govt lands etc by presenting fait accompli is nothing new. Good to see dharmics on the ground be aware, alert and action-oriented in taking on this menace. Sample this:
When contacted, BJP Shastri Nagar traders’ cell general secretary Jatin Chandana said that it was for the first time that “hundreds” had gathered at the tomb, which is located in an area with few Muslims, to offer namaz. “We are not opposed to prayers by any community. But we will not allow any new thing to begin in our area,” he said.

Another BJP leader, an office-bearer in the party’s district unit, Kamal Dutt Sharma compared the situation to Hindus praying at a temple in Chatta Anantram, a Muslim-dominated locality in Meerut. “We never go there to offer prayers. What will be the situation if we go to that that temple in hundreds to perform pooja?” he asked.

Meanwhile, chief of Yuva Sewa Samiti Badar Ali said that members from his community used to visit the Shastri Nagar tomb and offered prayers inside the tomb. “Our Hindu brothers have objected when worshippers assembled outside the tomb in large numbers. Leaders of both the communities have given in writing to the authorities concerned that we will not let anyone vitiate the communal atmosphere of Meerut on such trivial grounds,” said Ali.
Watch this space. Meerut is no stranger to communal 'riots' in the past (in reality one-sided harassment by malsics with sickular sarkar wink-nudge). But this is yogi sarkar now. Jaan lo. Jai ho.

Ramay ji, welcome back and a great post. I agree with that. Modi's vision is essentially indic and given a few decades of BJP rule, we can definitely see a Bharat that resembles a prosperous vedic/dharmic state. But what I would be afraid of is what Hari guru mentioned. Millions of Hindus are being drawn away from our values & way of life. The middle and upper middle class is most complicit in this - by westernizing blindly. Westernization is the first step towards deracination & the cutting of indic root. To lay foundation for a dharmic Bharat, we first need to lay the foundations right and de-westernize our education system. Otherwise, Modi & his successors will be fighting a lost battle.

http://www.opindia.com/2018/06/from-wor ... al-target/
The government of Uttar Pradesh has seen a massive overhaul in the implementation of schemes and achieving the set targets in various state and central government projects. According to a report in the Economic Times, the state government is now bracing itself to the task of building 20 lakh toilets every month till October 2nd this year.

The Uttar Pradesh government is aiming for the distinction of achieving the Open Defecation Free (ODF) status a whole year ahead of the national deadline of October 2nd, 2019.

Till a year ago, UP has been lagging behind the national averages on the number of toilets built and the total number of villages being declared ODF. It was reportedly among the two worst performing states in the Swachh Bharat Mission and it was being speculated that the state will not even be able to meet the national target. In the last one year after CM Yogi Adityanath took charge, the state has witnessed a complete turn around in the efforts and dedication.

UP was reportedly the top performer last year and if it is able to achieve ODF status a year earlier, due to its distinction of being the highest populated state of India, it can even enable to turn the country ODF six months earlier than the national target of October 2, 2019.

According to the report in ET, out of 2.69 crore rural houses in UP, 1.94 crores already have a household toilet. In urban areas, against an original target of 8.87 lakh toilets, 3.69 lakh toilets have been built so far and 1.46 lakh are under construction.

When the Swachh Bharat Mission was announced on October 2nd, 2014, UP had only 37% coverage of rural (Grameen) household toilets. After nearly 2.5 years, on April 30, 2017, the total rural household toilet coverage was at 47%. That means the state had only made 10% progress in 2.5 years. But in the last one year, after massive efforts from the BJP government in the state, the state average on rural household toilets coverage has been taken up to 74%.

Yogi Adityanath visits all the 75 districts of the state in record 16 months time

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has now created a record of being the first Chief Minister to visit all the 75 districts of the state in just 16 months after coming to power.

Image

Yogi Adityanath visited Hathras on Monday and laid foundation stones to 34 development schemes worth Rs. 155 crores, making his visit to the 75th district of the state. He had also visited Etah on Sunday where he oversaw the development works and laid foundation stones for development works worth Rs.253 crores.

Yogi Adityanath after assuming charge as the Chief Minister made his intentions to visit every corner of the state. He had announced that his priority is to visit every district in the state to speed up the development process. He had ensured that the schemes launched by both central and state governments will reach every person in the state.

The spokesperson of BJP Manish Shukla said, “It is not that he has just touched all the district, he also had night stays in some of them and there are some places where he has made frequent visits in keeping with their importance.”

The chief minister has travelled the state extensively and has visited certain districts more than once. He has visited his hometown Gorakhpur and the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Modi, Varanasi more than three times. The Prime Minister has also lauded the efforts of the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister for his outreach programme and other commendable works across the state.

Yogi Adityanath addressed the media, accused the predecessors of neglecting the developmental activities in the state. He also targeted previous governments for deteriorating law and order situation in the state. He said that the ‘goonda raj’ had deterred the investors from investing in the state.

Recently, Yogi Adityanath had broken the myth of ‘Noida Jinx’ by visiting Noida. This superstition started in 1988 when former chief minister Vir Bahadur Singh lost the power soon after visiting Noida. It is believed that any chief minister visiting Noida will lose his/her power. Yogi Adityanath, despite this myth, visited Noida in December to inaugurate metro projects and other developmental works.

The Chief Minister has prioritized the efforts to improve law and order in the state, which was deteriorated during the previous governments. He has also attracted investments of Rs.60,000 crore after swearing as Chief Minister of the state. Recently, Samsung has opened the world’s largest mobile factory in Uttar Pradesh, which provides jobs to more than 70,000 people in the state.

Yogi's big Diwali plans: 100-mt Lord Ram statue to be built in Ayodhya

SriRam statue by the banks of the Sarayu is a nice idea.

But Mandir is non-negotiable. Acquire land all around the disputed site and start constructing the outer walls of the grand temple, at least sirjee. Should have a massive structure - arches and domes that will dome in anything built on the disputed site - ideally the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram mandir itself.

JT, you bring up an interesting point.
While in state, they can be "kommunal" as they like with less publicity and effect more change. Once they become PM then it is harder.

Yes. I'm glad you understood my logic.

Taking it further, the central government should change whatever necessary to fix the larger issues, like defence taxes, overall educational policy etc.. since in any case it can't interfere in state governance issues.

At state level, things state syllabus and "communal" concerns can be tackled. Watching NM, I am beginning to believe that Yogi won't be able to effect change at the centre either.

This only such a time that states and their institutions have become "communal".. at which point the centre can be purged with traitors and sickulars.

This is the long have though. It needs sustained patience from not only voters but BJP politicians. Not sure the current crop are up for it.
