With due respect, yes situation can be improved in Bengaluru but most of it is cribbing. I spent 5 lacs etc. Many people had similar losses in USin Houston etc. the reason she came to India is she does not want teenage daughter to spend thier teen years in US. Rest is BS. Lets see if she relocates to USA immediately.

hehe, imagine someone had to contact US Consultanate to get their basement cleaned. Poor Massans. Whether she goes back or not, Mrs Gupta will have to face a world where her teens are going to express themselves in a liberal fashion, and no amount of breastbeating will change that eventuality.

And I say this very respectfully, the choice is between getting touched by Indian values or American values, values being the operative word (or as the grumpy neighborhood chap says, the word to be substituted with boy).

Something does not smell right. HSR layout is filled with rich IT jernails & kernails. Why was she running a basement based business ?

Why talk about 'sacrifices', why complain about Mudi when clearly $hitramaiah was jerking off as the city is getting slowly submerged under sewage ?

She is more than welcome to go back to US.

bleddy, you build a house with a basement which was once a lake and go crying to the consulate when it rains, wah bhai wah. Also Modi called for Make in India, not run a NGO in India

This should be on BRF but I find that now 2 service chiefs having talked of 2 front wars. I feel that both the Pakis and Chinese have been up to some mischief which our intelligence and satellites have picked up.

2 front war is very dangerous but also very simple, pakis get nuked over pindi and chinese get conventional response. This is my gut feeling.

I find it more interesting that one is able to address a problem by going to massa consulate -> PMO -> NDRF -> State team -> resolution

but cannot get it done by

1. state machinery doing it on its own without somebody have to prod it
2. state machinery doing it even after prodding the MLA, joint commissioner Commissioner of BBMP

that is a real problem, no?

exactly. i dont fault the woman for trying what she did. 400 others in her colony 99% desi passports are in same boat (pun unintended).
not all of HSR is a bowl...infact its mostly ex dry scrubland and hillocks and can be easily managed with a proper drainage system. one of our members lives near its highest point. only once around 2006ish did it flood badly when some raja kaluve drains overflowed...there are colonies near these canals but usually the water level is 6-10 feet below the road level so not low lying by any means

the system is broken is why ppl keep on tweeting to the rail minister or abc minister for things like lost luggage , no water in train, rude ticket clerk and so on. a working system never needs the CEO to fix a broken chair or empty printer toner.

its also why Namo has to exercise a outsize influence and drive things from PMO level to get many mules to move 1 inch on the ground.

Worst part is if things are not immediately fixed, the people blame NaMo and resort to #Blow2Modi as if the PM is the nation's personal chaprasi. Truly a huge meek base battered into submission by numerous knocks of life, ruled by a few rascals like the Congis.

The first responders' news conference the chief was saying initially they were not sure if it is a 'Mumbai style attack' because of number of calls. So 'Mumbai style attack' has gone into the lexicon of law enforcement people all over the world.

Ecity + orr + whitefield has worlds highest raw number and also density of itvity jobs and some 10000 apartment complexes

Only tokyo singapore scaled infra to meet high urban density can work in this patch nothing less

The special in SEZ word is not special permit for leaders and bbmp bescom to make money and deliver 4th world infra ... it has to be funded to special levels

Yesterday some ppl took 4 hours to reach home

Is it a problem? Yes, but why bring Make in India in to this mess?? Bengaluru's structural problems have been well documented, it's a doing of all, including the people. Also, when the deluge happened in Chennai, don't think people expected the govt to come and drain their houses, all the govt did was to evacuate people from low lying disaster zones.

in blr atleast in posh BDA colonies the bbmp does provide this service of draining basement. i guess they charge for it. could be outsourced to pvt parties who have a generator and pumpset with pipes with bbmp skimming some rent on top

people have some pet dialogues and entitlements to parrot..which while annoying and eye-rolling, is not the bigger problem here.

individual greed may be participant to the mess in bangalore, but i would always blame those who are in power and have a higher responsibility, the most.

you mean the flood that the govt caused by not managing rising water while it was filling up and not desilting the mouths to let water flow more etc? :)

maybe we should expect govt to cleanup the messes. we just forgive them too easy and get caught in false choices. seems like people have already forgiven dmk for its scams and 14 hour powercuts and are willing to vote them back to power....

They should thank their stars it was a lone gunman in Vegas and not some trained terrorist commando unit like in Mumbai. Even today outside professionals very few people actually appreciate or even understand what the NSG achieved in Mumbai 26/11.

Will there be a Benis thread on BRG? Sometimes, Mullah Nayakudin and Enqyoob provide more education via 1 picture in Benis than a thousand word post from SSridharji on the Terroristan thread.
