Car and Bike thread
Re: Car and Bike thread
With a injury to my toenail, I am unable to use my Bullet regularly. The chaos in traffic does not help either. Waifu is asking me to sell both the bullet and activa and go for a Vespa.
Re: Car and Bike thread
What! a Vespa for a Bullet? kadapee nahee!
Now if it was a Vesper Lynd that's hot hot ride.

Re: Car and Bike thread
Yup, the shifting is not that smooth. The bike has lot of false neutrals. But still that 'dug dug' vibrations makes up for all the flaws.

Driving scooter is like driving a mini van in the US. I feel for you Nayak-al-uddin.

My first post in a Car thread
Got a brand new AMG last month, the CLA45. Never thought a 2.0 litre engine could pack so much grunt

Re: Car and Bike thread
Thanks, guys.
There a break in period that puts limit on the max rpm and max speed. So currently limited to accelerating off signals, passing senior citizens cars in a blink and keeping a watchful eye on the needle.
Of course, SHQ cant believe that I would go dor a car with stiffer suspension and I end up getting plenty of dirty looks.
All in all, excellent for bahnstorming. Cant wait for the break in period to be complete.

Re: Car and Bike thread
i meant to ask, why would your toenail injury be a problem when you can use heels to shift gear..
Re: Car and Bike thread
ShQ wanted to gift me a bullet but i ended up buying a royal enfield himalayan for 10th anniversary. Using as a commuter bike and no time even for a short tour to Mahabs.

Re: Car and Bike thread
Have read a lot about RE's reliability issues. That they are not as well made as the old ones.
Re: Car and Bike thread
I don't think you have ever had an old one
The new ones are actually a lot more reliable with the UCE engine. I had the old cast iron 350, i've ridden diesel bullets which will overtake a bullock cart in two days, and now have a TB. The thunderbird is vastly better than anything I've ever had from enfield.

Re: Car and Bike thread
Does anyone here own/ have driven a Harley? The ones available in India? Would be happy to hear first hand feedback. Thanks.
Re: Car and Bike thread
harley is like mcdonalds. more niche brands like "indian" and "truimph" might turn heads.
my father a banker used a bullet as his official vehicle for many years. his longest ride was around 350km in a day.
it used to have a rear mudguard made of a tin sheet not rubber. one day while having lunch i ran out to see a band party passing by, while running back I slipped and hit my eye onto a corner of this mudguard with the metal going in about 1inch into my eyebrow. all i recall was blacking out, lots of blood, and later my father and uncle feeding me warm water and putting some ointment (stitching was also done while I was howling and kind of blacked out).
I carry that white scar on my left eyebrow for life.

Huh..I don't remember seeing any scar on you...
Dad had a yezdi and I was about 3rd std or something and had contact with the silencer and got a YUGE bag of heat swell on my thigh. It was quite nasty to heal and left a scar as well

Re: Car and Bike thread
In the stop and go slow traffic, I have to lean on my left leg, the toe nail is recovering slowly and very painful when full weight of the bike and me falls on it.
Re: Car and Bike thread
I had the old cast iron Royal Enfield Bullet 350 too, never gave me any trouble; but then I got it serviced every month. What a joy it was when after 20 years I saw one parked in Reston Town Center, Virginia.
Longest day ride was around 255km/day, loved it, miss it. Now that am older, wish they make the same cast iron robust one but with a smaller frame (not like mini enfield they used to have).
On a side note, a friend of my cousin had to be amputated waist down after he crashed into a truck riding his bullet.

Re: Car and Bike thread
Which RE do you own? If you have one with a front disc brake learn to use the front brake Saar. That way you can keep your left foot on the gear shift and lean on your right foot.
I just got myself a RE Bullet 350ES last week. Here is a picture of said ride:
