Has #Sophia gone underground after trying to fool the court by submitting her expired passport. More violations?
1) If this passport was used for Entry into airport (makes her a trespasser)
2) Submitting False Document to mislead the court
3) Fugitive on the run?

So looks like this is a well choreographed attempt by the father & daughter with a clear political intent. This could be a wave 2 attack from the Urban Naxal gangs, especially after a few of the big timers in the gang were picked up by the police. Now such kind of other wise unknown entitities would be activated, and we can see more such actions against "BJP & Fascism" and any lawful action taken against the perpetrators would start the cry of "India is going through an undeclared emergency". The main stream media which actually pissed in their pants during the 1976 Emergency would tom tom such stories.

But can't her dubious religious credentials be exposed to the general public in TN, including the Devendra Kula Vellalar community elders? If MSM does not be of help, try social media campaigning. Tell the community that what ever reservation benefits they are getting now is also being eaten up by crypto-Xians like this woman & family.

There seems some fake news on the internet...I do not think he is joining politics. However, if he does join the BJP and contests from Trivandrum, it would be a great way to get rid of Tharoor.

Guys,

Any news about BJP prospects in Rajasthan, MP ? Is it a wipe out or at least some hope exists ?

Mood in both AP & (inexplicably) TG is against BJP, and looks like there is nothing Modi can do over the next year to turn the tide.. energy better spent in KA or up north.

AP is against because of the special status issue - at least 6 TV channels operated by landowning Kamma community to which CBN belongs to and they are brainwashing people to hate BJP & Modi over this "historic injustice". People believe that Modi has let them down, very seriously.

In TG, it looks like a lack of strong state level leadership is hurting BJP. TRS currently has 60-70% backing, Congress - which actually carved the state - has about 20%, rest is MIM, BJP & Commies.

In AP, I believe they have a covert alliance with YSR Congress, which is a bit depressing considering Jagan is a 3rd gen Christian and just a decade back his dad wanted to convert entire state into another Nagaland. But if they can ask Jagan to keep a leash on his conversion activities, who knows how he'll turn. In any case, he is to be at least admired that he has refused to obey the Mafia Queen till date, unlike the turncoat backstabber CBN. There's also a conspiracy theory doing rounds, that BJP's real plan is AP is to finish off CBN & TDP and making Pavan Kalyan be a surprising Trojan horse, who will be a post-poll ally.. that his current alliance with Commies is just hogwash to split left-leaning votes. Any one else heard this ?

In TG, KCR has apparently promised Modi that he will join NDA or support BJP govt post-poll.. KCR is just one step below Mamata Banerjee in appeasing Muslims, and he really wanted a 3rd front Mish mash govt but one that does not go with Congress, as that is his real rival.. it looks like both Mamata & commies told him that that's not going to happen and they want to go with congress post-poll.. people say he is back in BJP camp for now.

Gents - what is the update on the UP floods? I see pretty much zero coverage of it in the news papers (one English, one Malayalam) which I read. So either the media is not interested in the UP issues, or Yogi & Co are managing the flood situation well and media is NOT finding any thing negative to report.

Mohan Lal, I don't think so would join the BJP yet. In Kerala, if any noted person in society joins the BJP he should pretty much ensure that he has all the means to lead a retired life. In his profession hence forth, he would not be able to make much progress. The "secular camp" would ensure that as professional he is finished. So if Mohan lal does decide to join BJP, he should ensure that;
i) he has good sources of income to lead his life,
ii) should be willing to lose opportunities in movies,
iii) will have to know and accept that his religion and caste identity would be used to dent his good will,
iv) and accept that he may still NOT win elections.

But yes these people do have an influence on other people, so BJP can use them for campaigns or to spread the message across. And Mohan lal generally has a lot of closet Sanghies in his friends circle.

Don't give him ideas. INC folks can very well work out a good picture using Photoshop or GIMP and "prove" that Rahul Ghandi did the Kalias Manasarovar trip. And from what I know he is actually trekking it up via Nepal.

I do check up some media outlets which is entirely anti-Modi, and they have all been silent for a while. So either they don't have any clear picture, or they are not getting much negative stories.
In TG, KCR has apparently promised Modi that he will join NDA or support BJP govt post-poll.
In TS and AP, I feel BJP would have to play a good negotiating game as it will not be able to be in 100% control there. The classic game of loose a battle or two, to win the war.

Section 377 verdict | Live updates: SC strikes down law criminalising homosexuality (The Hindu)
Sec 377 IPC: Unnatural offences.—Whoever voluntarily has carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal, shall be punished with 1[imprisonment for life], or with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine. Explanation.—Penetration is sufficient to constitute the carnal intercourse necessary to the offence described in this section.
---
Need to wait for the exact written judgement, to see what has actually been invalidated. Section 377 also deals with bestiality, and animal lovers may be upset if bestiality is also now legalised ;). There are champs who specialise in bestiality.

Looks like the "Seculars" have found one good Achiless' Heel of the BJP and the "communal" forces.
Bharat bandh against SC/ST Act amendments LIVE updates: Rallies taken out in MP's Berasia, Vidisha, Hoshangabad .
That is split the Hindu community on caste lines, and make them fight each other; with the "seculars" and minority religions clearly getting a short cut to come back to controlling India. The SC/ST Atrocity prevention act, the supreme court order and the ordinance of the central government; all has become a clear tool in the hands of the Break India Forces. How is the political situation in MP, as I understand the state is going for elections soon.

What does this mean??
“I am what I am. So take me as I am. No one can escape from their individuality”
why are such remarks made in court?? Is it really necessary?? Does it in any way add or clarify the judgement??
CJI Dipak Misra, Justices RF Nariman, DY Chandrachud and Indu Malhotra pronounces separate but concurrent judgements

Section 377 will still apply to bestiality and non-consensual sexual acts

In a landmark judgment, the five-judge bench of the Supreme Court unanimously, on 6 September, partially struck down the British-era law which criminalised consensual homosexual sex in India.

While reading his judgment on Section 377 of the IPC, Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra noted, “I am what I am. So take me as I am. No one can escape from their individuality”.

NTR's son Nandamuri Harikrishna's demise marks an end of resistance to Chandrababu Naidu's control over TDP

CBN has a history of accidenting potential challengers to his position from his own party.

JuNTR is the key - in the long-term BJP must take him under the wing to lead the collective fight against CBN.Iam sure that the feelers have been already sent - which is why Harikrishna met his demise while making the path clear for Lokesh babu.

Rajiv Gandhi assassination: consider Perarivalan’s mercy plea, SC asks T.N. Governor
A Bench of Justices Ranjan Gogoi, Naveen Sinha and K.M. Joseph disposed of the Centre’s petition regarding a proposal for the release of the convicts, filed by the Tamil Nadu government.
---
Looks like the Governor has to take the feedback on the Mercy plea with the GoTN; which most likely would be favouring the release. Any ways, this would be one of the longest prison terms which convicts in India have served.

Would the elections be now held in December along with MP, RJ elections or sometime in February which would be too close to GE.

From the reports I read, the care taker Govt. of TS would push for elections along with MP and RJ. Off course the Election Commission needs to confirm their plans. Earlier TS elections would have happened pretty much at the same time of LS 2019 elections.

Madras HC order to dedicate special lanes at toll plazas for judges and other “VIPs” is another appalling example of India’s feudal culture. These are public servants not VIPs. The only VIP is the ordinary citizen

There are many little known facts that he brings out. His talk at TEDxBITSPilani :

https://youtu.be/UFQNAC9zTW0

J. Gopikrishnan talks about how it all began - the rise of the role of journalism in India.

J. Gopikrishnan talks about how it all began - the rise of the role of journalism in India. He talks about the current scenario and how technology can help in bringing about a more transparent form of journalism. An Indian journalist who unearthed the 2G Scam. Gopikrishnan has bagged several prestigious awards like CNN-IBN television channel’s ‘Indian of the Year’ in December 2010. He also presented a paper on ‘Telecom scandal of India” in coveted international journalists’ conference in Norway – SKUP in March 2012. He shifted to Delhi, to join "The Pioneer", an English newspaper, in 2008, where he went on to expose: the hidden list of companies floated by the relatives of then telecom minister A.Raja, midnight letters involving the 2G Scam exchanged between then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and A. Raja, hidden minutes of the meetings between then Finance Minister P.Chidambaram and Telecom Minister A.Raja. Gopikrishnan's major reports on the 2G scam, rocked the ruling Congress-led UPA Government and ultimately led to it's pummeling in 2014 elections, making J.Gopalakrishnan one of the most successful Investigative Journalist the country has ever seen. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.

This is the news I was looking for, but all I saw was an avalanche of this article 377 business in the English language media.

Now in matters like this, it may appear I am a homophobic or whatever (all western cliches our Lutyen ass holes revel in to show their superiority), but I am wondering how much of this gay and lesbian business actually resonates with the aam aadmi? If you look at the metro elite celebrating this verdict, even NYT showing headlines, once again it shows how colonized India really is. Let me emphasize, I am not against gays, but on the scale of importance, is this issue that important an Indian context? It may be an obsession with western countries, but that does not mean it has to be a Gold standard for India as well.
