BGR New Look Sandbox

[Dileep]

Now that the functional issues are all gone, it is time to work on the look side.

http://test123.bharatganrajya.com is made into a sandbox for trying out the look and feel changes. Made a new logo and font size of header is increased.

Comments welcome.

It takes a lot of time to figure the hows and whats of this, but it is fun onlee.

I will create a decent logo once we settle on the skin/theme. could we have some colour different from the default blue, grey may be, like BRF of old ?

We can have multiple styles loaded, and users can actually select them as they please. So, let us make a list:

prosilver : The original. I am going to continue to use it.
Prosilver SP : will be default and guest style.
Black Silver: Because we have evil people around
Flat: Because "the money" says so

You can try it out by signing up with any user name. Sign up and login into the forum. Click the user id on top left and choose User Control Panel. Go to board preferences tab and select the style

I like it, but Would like the state borders visible on the map. We are a Federal Republic onlee.

No problems but it doesn't look too good given the small image size. also need to add the tagline.

Looks great. Can the tagline be below the name? Somehow, in my mind it always reads "Bharat Ganrajya, the voice of the republic"

RahulM, hope you do not mind, could the tagline have a different font too. Due to the texture, it becomes less enjoyable.

I wanted to put it below the name but it doesn't showup on green. moving up is a compromise.

Martenullah, no problems at all. the problem is more with the background texture than the tagline font itself. I used Georgia Bold. let me see what I can do.

I like the concept very much. Are we attached to the texture? Perhaps we could make the Flag wavy, thereby getting white space on the bottom right for the tagline? I shall have time this month-end and will try (irregular PS user but have exp.). I have been making out cheques that the workload has been bouncing, so apologies in advance for not helping out earlier.

caveat : the waving flag thing, if not done properly looks very tacky.
