A Las Vegas Metropolitan police source has confirmed that at least 20 people are dead in a shooting Sunday night outside Mandalay Bay on the Las Vegas Strip.
Metro also confirmed about that one suspect is dead on a high-level floor of Mandalay Bay. It’s not known if there are other suspects.
Police are asking people to avoid the area.
Police reported multiple casualties from the incident and possibly two shooters with automatic weapons.
The attack came during the last performances on the final night of the three-day Route 91 Harvest Festival, which has been held for the past four years on an 15-acre lot across Las Vegas Boulevard from Mandalay Bay.

Re: Terror Incidents Worldwide
From wapo- Police believe Paddock, a local resident, was a “lone wolf” attacker. Lombardo did not give further details, however, on Paddock’s background or possible motivation.
“We have no idea what his belief system was,” Lombardo said. “Right now, we believe he was the sole aggressor and the scene is static.”

ISIS claims that this person converted to Islam few months back and thus this is ISIS attack.
Re: Terror Incidents Worldwide
I won't put much stock into what ISIS claims. They just scan news feeds and announce any attack anywhere as their doing.
Re: Terror Incidents Worldwide
^^^True that, but that does put a germination of doubt in average american about the reach and potency of ISIS scum. Many witnesses interviewed assumed the worst like a-la mumbai land force team attack from multiple directions. In fact one off-duty reporter caught up in the event assumed the swat rescue team to be the terrorists.

Re: Terror Incidents Worldwide
Shooter had 19 guns and thousands of round of ammunition. He also had ammonium nitrate in his car which he probably was trying to make a bomb. He used bump-stock to convert a semi-automatic (one press of trigger releases one round) to automatic (one press of trigger empties the magazine. Bump-stock uses the recoil of the gun to press the trigger again and since each time trigger is pressed (very fast) it becomes de-facto automatic gun. Automatic guns are banned in USA for common people except police and military.
The rate of fire with bump-stock devices increases to 200+ rounds per minute., at that speed one gun could overheat and that's why he had 19 guns and several mounted on tripod., so he probably went around shooting different guns before coming back to the 1st.

Re: Terror Incidents Worldwide
from the videos it almost looks like a section of people were firing steadily in disciplined military mode, so you are right, he had all the guns loaded with high capacity mags and ready to roll, firing them to empty in series....god alone knows how many rounds he unleashed..probably 1000+
Re: Terror Incidents Worldwide
Its a Mumbai redux on Massa-MSM, all and sundry (ex jernals and kernals of various 3 letter agencies) jumping over each other to revel intricate details of swat operation to general public. Example: Heat/exhausts from 19 (or is it 17) automatic guns triggered the fire alarm in the room that gave his position away, else if they relied on muzzle flash that would have taken much more than one hour (which it took) to locate him via triangulation.
Then there was also the audio of actual verbiage used to breach his room when found.
What is the need for general public to know such details in authenticity?

Re: Terror Incidents Worldwide
Public needs to know how these gun enthusiasts are circumventing the law by converting semi-automatic rifles to fully automatic rifles. I am not sure whether the Mumbai attackers had fully or semi automatic rifles. Fully automatic rifles can cause carnage to the times of ten in India due to dense population. Its a Mumbai redux on Massa-MSM, all and sundry (ex jernals and kernals of various 3 letter agencies) jumping over each other to revel intricate details of swat operation to general public.
Re: Terror Incidents Worldwide
mumbai had full auto ak56 from ample stocks in international terror bazaars across border. they never use the G3 or MP5 or Steyr AUG from Pak army for plausible deniability.
Re: Terror Incidents Worldwide
i think they are conveying how hard it was to locate him as various MSM will invariably ask why not sooner and blame the cops. the police consulted with security and went up to 31st floor and use the firing noises to home in on his room, and called in swat with a explosive to break the door. he may have put some attachment on muzzles to hide the flash.Shandilya wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2017 4:37 pmIts a Mumbai redux on Massa-MSM, all and sundry (ex jernals and kernals of various 3 letter agencies) jumping over each other to revel intricate details of swat operation to general public. until sbajwa post i had no idea of this bump stock thing proliferating.
Re: Terror Incidents Worldwide
two questions:
1. how does bump stock convert normal semi rifle to fully automatic ?
2. how difficult is it to spot location of origin of gunfire in a crowded place. Esp if gunman is concealed. In this case since he was shooting continuously it seems rather easy, but even then not without its challenges. But in case he just shot twice or thrice at the crowd, it would have been well nigh impossible to trace gunman immidiately.

Re: Terror Incidents Worldwide
i have stayed at the luxor hotel next to the concert and adjacent to mandalay bay. have visited the mandalay bay itself - it is one of largest hotels in vegas with 3300 rooms and is a tourist attraction due to things like a acquarium and a meeting venue convention center. the shooting range seems to be around 400 meters ie only rifles can range that far and not handguns. a 3letter type was saying due to the bright lights all over the strip , and reflections of noise from buildings, it was not easy to localize maybe some police officer had binocs nearby and scanned the facade of mandalay bay to locate the two broken windows and zero in on suspected position. the luxor hotel has a pyramid which is around 20 storeys high and is pitch black so even a broken window there would be hard to make out. muzzle flash hiders would muffle the sound and light of the guns.
the police would have taken minutes to localize his position and call other police to take the elevator to pinpoint his place. they did the best they could.
what it means is that like in india or other places, all good hotels will need to have personal frisking and XRAY of bags . this is their 26/11. they will also likely need armed security or QRT shared among major hotels to respond internally or pay the police to stand up such units
ibnlive snippet.
A total of 47 firearms were recovered from three locations searched by investigators - Paddock's hotel suite, his home in Mesquite, and another property associated with him in Reno, Nevada, according to Jill Snyder, special agent for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF).
Snyder said 12 of the guns found in the hotel room were fitted with so-called bump-stock devices that allow the guns to be fired virtually as automatic weapons. The devices are legal under U.S. law, even though fully automatic weapons are for the most part banned.
The rifles, shotguns and pistols were purchased in four states - Nevada, Utah, California and Texas - Snyder told reporters at an evening news conference.

full auto vs bump fire. full auto stock remains rigid so more conducive to accuracy. a bit faster also.

Re: Terror Incidents Worldwide
Longer barrel helps too in terms of accuracy. After the second and third rounds' recoil is done, the M16 is rock stable. The bump stock moves the barrel significantly more in comparison. Still, given that full auto is banned and the neighbourhood whackjob can buy a bump stock and/or a suppressor or machine it, it is tons more risky since it escapes govt scrutiny and tracking.
Re: Terror Incidents Worldwide
news reports today say bump stocks are selling like hot cakes in gun shops as people have now realized what it can do.
